I'm like that with my Nanna, I never knew her but feel close to her because I still have and use a lot of her knitting needles and patterns. My Mum always says that were she still alive she'd never see either of us as we'd be holed up somewhere together making something.
It's nice to have those things... I used to sit and knit with my grannie, it was good... She didn't have many needles or accessories, and everything she did was at that point from memory and maybe a little improvised, so I don't have much except memories, tho I do have a few pairs of her socks!.. It's lovely for yo to have a pattern!

How cool that you come by knitting in a hereditary way. I'm the only knitter in my family that I know of, but my grandmother crochets.
